With growing adoption of e-hailing apps/services, Taiwan's taxi market is experiencing a significant digital transformation. How are Taiwanese consumers using them?
Key findings
- Compared to others, Uber rides often originate from personal needs, have longer session times, and are likely to consider alternative apps. They also use other entertainment and social apps during Uber app sessions.
- Uber riders’ persona are younger (primarily 20-29), higher income, open to trying new services, have good interactions with friends, and likely to be interested in sports and arts.
- They also display a preference for delivery services in comparison to users of other e-hailing apps.
Recommendations
If looking to acquire new user from competitors, “VS MEDIA Taiwan” and “Joeman” are top social channels to considered (frequently used by competing e-hailing riders).
