With the rise of the digital era, online banking has not only transformed the way people handle financial transactions but has also become an indispensable part of everyday life for Taiwanese consumers. Under the strong leadership of local brands, Taiwan's online banking industry demonstrates robust growth potential while facing dual challenges of innovation and reform. According to the latest survey conducted by Z.com Engagement Lab, the Online Banking Direction Index indicates that consumers are generally optimistic about the industry's prospects over the next 12 months. The data shows that 89% of respondents believe the industry is moving in the "right direction." Compared to the overall outlook for the nation, consumers hold a relatively more optimistic view of the development of online banking in the coming year.

The Online Banking Change Index indicates a widespread demand for industry reform. A significant 88% of respondents emphasize the need for ‘more’ changes, with minimal voices opposing such changes. This consensus highlights the importance of innovation and adaptation to evolving consumer expectations and technological advancements.

Attitudes toward government regulation in the online banking industry are divided. While 52% of respondents support reducing government oversight, 33% advocate for increased regulation. Notably, compared to the overall national change index, the proportion favoring reduced regulation is decreasing, while support for increased regulation is rising, reflecting growing attention to balancing innovation with security and compliance.

In the Online Banking Usage Frequency Index, most users plan to increase their use of services in the industry. About 72% of consumers expect to use online banking services more frequently, while only 25% plan to maintain their current usage levels. The NPS highlights differences in consumer trust in online banking services across countries. Taiwan ranks highest with a positive score of 12. In contrast, Taiwanese consumers exhibit negative NPS scores for foreign online banking services, showing a preference for domestic brands.
